The Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT)
We believe that mental health services should be accessible to everyone, which is why it is a requirement that all providers working at the Wise Mind Psychology Center provide telehealth services and be active members of The Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT). This means that all our providers at Wise Mind Psychology Center can assist persons in any of the PSYPACT participating states. There are currently 42 enacted and 42 effective states participating in the PSYPACT agreement, which allows the administration of psychological services across state lines.
As a practice, we advocate for the continued expansion of this program so that all persons living in the United States may benefit from working with a provider that matches the patient’s preferences, area of concern, and expertise of the provider. The benefit of working with a provider with a PSYPACT authorization is that therapy may continue if a client moves to another eligible state, which allows continuity of care and continued progress in symptom management. The PSYCPACT legislation is continuously growing, and the Wise Mind Psychology Center continuously monitors its progress to ensure that we are working within our Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT) and are advocating for those not able to participate in this program currently.
